Our Workshop has been designed to equip attendees with a better understanding of autism in children and help them to understand the function and purpose of everyday behaviours.
It will provide practical strategies to managing these complex behaviours in a variety of settings.

This Workshop will cover:

• The presentation and challenges of Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD)
• Understanding the foundations and definitions of behaviour
• Recognising behaviour triggers, defining consequences and analysing behaviour ‘functions’
• Implementing tools, techniques and strategies to prevent and respond to challenging behaviours

This Workshop is suitable for parents of children on the spectrum, as well as complimentary service providers, professionals such as teachers and classroom assistants or carers working with these children.

Presented by Casey Same, Psychologist.

About the presenter: Casey is a registered psychologist providing a range of clinical services including assessments, therapy, parent training and sibling support at Irabina. She is trained to administer a range of assessments, including Autism Spectrum Disorder diagnostic assessments, cognitive and developmental assessments and she is a certified ESDM therapist and ABA therapist.

Casey has experience working with children with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), developmental and emotional disorders, behavioural difficulties and feeding difficulties. She has a keen interest in providing high-quality therapy for children to assist them in overcoming challenges, reaching their potential and supporting families in gaining knowledge, strategies and advocating for their child.
